Maybe you've noticed a sudden increase in facial hair among the young guys you encounter, and you've wondered why. Maybe you're just looking for a good cause that raises money in a creative and funny way. In either case, you'll want to know about Mustaches for Kids.

Yep. Mustaches. For kids. It works like this: guys (and, heck, girls too if they are so inclined) commenced growing mustaches on Nov. 13. No goatees, no "Rollie Fingers handlebars", nothing funny or artsy looking -- just the currently very much out of fashion mustache that goes from one corner of the mouth to the other. Growers take pledges that will go to various public school teacher's projects through Donors Choose.org. Even if you don't personally know anyone participating, you can pledge on Donors Choose to support the idea.  Especially since part of the idea behind it is that grower's friends are not only allowed to mock their burgeoning 'stache, they are encouraged to do so.

The "sweetest 'stache" will be chosen at the " 'Stache Bash" at a local bar to be announced.

This is a hilariously funny idea, and helps kids as well.

Although I admit I refrained from sharing it with my husband....
